Graduated from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) (global subject ranking 10 in QS 2017), I now serve as an Associate Professor in Dept of Economics and Finance, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). I am the founder and director of Sustainable Real Estate Research Center and Real Estate and Economics Research Lab. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor in China-Australia Centre for Sustainable Urban Development, Tianjin University in China. My major field of research interests lie in artificial intelligence, construction safety, sustainable development, real estate economics and finance.
Over the years, I won many local and international awards and grants. I was a recipient of a Fellowship from the US to study the impact of law and culture on housing fittings in China which offered me a chance to present a paper to Prof Douglass North, Nobel Prize Winner (for his contribution in new institutional economics). I received the top three presenter award among all the fellowship recipients. I was also a recipient of a grant issued by Ministry of Education jointly with scholar from People’s Republic of China and a finalist award for competition law research in the US. Besides, I hold a few visiting positions in overseas university, such as University of South Australia, RMIT and Feng Chia University.

I am a journal editor for many academic peer review journals and a regular reviewer for Scopus/SSCI/SCI journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production,International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Sustainability, Housing Studies, Journal of Youth Studies (housing only), Land Use Policy, Facilities, Urban Studies etc. I previously served as PhD examiner for students in University of Macau and University Putra Malaysia.
Outside the ivory tower, I am chartered surveyor, an associate member in CIArb and HKIArb. My research activities have been covered by mass media in different places, such as:
